The MIPS is a leading technology in flat displacement within the hull, designed to reduce rotational forces that can result from certain impacts. When a head rotates rapidly and comes to a sudden stop, the rotational acceleration can cause high levels of tension in the brain tissue. Stretching the tissue that is caused by these movements can lead to various types of brain injuries.
